Vocalist Brazella Briscoe was born (Brazella Earl Briscoe) in New Orleans on July 20,1948. Briscoe is the leader of famed New Orleans gospel group The Zion Harmonizers.
Saxophonist Clarence "Trixzey" Slaughter (Clarence Eugene Deonte Slaughter) was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 20, 1989. Slaughter moved to New Orleans in 2007, where he worked Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Hot 8 Brass Band, Mario Abney Quintet, Corey Henry's Treme Funktet, and others. Jazz trumpeter Samuel Alcorn died of lung cancer in New Orleans on July 20, 1998 at age 61. Sammy played at Arnaud's Restaurant, the French Market Cafe, the Famous Door, and other local venues. He worked with Albert "Papa" French, Fats Domino, the Original Hawkettes, Deacon John, Duke Ellington, the Alvin Alcorn Trio, the Imperial Brass Band, Jerry Butler, June Gardner, and others. Cash Money Records rapper Juvenile was arrested at his Mandeville home on July 20, 2000, and charged with 3 counts of simple battery and 5 counts of aggravated assault. The incident arose after the rapper allegedly manhandled five dancers he had picked up for his housewarming party.
