Musician, composer, arranger, producer, and publisher Richard M. Jones was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana on June 13, 1892. Jones played tuba and cornet with the Claiborne Williams Band and Eureka Brass Band before migrating to Chicago in 1919. Jones continued to perform, ran his own record store, and worked for the Okeh, Decca and Mercury record labels. His compositions included "Jazzin' Babies Blues", the blues classic "Trouble in Mind", and "Riverside Blues", among many others. Jones passed away in Chicago on December 8, 1945. Listen to Richard M. Blues guitarist Lafayette Thomas was born (Lafayette Jerl Thomas) in Shreveport, LA (or Harrison County, TX) on June 13, 1928. Thomas worked with Jimmy McCracklin, Little Brother Montgomery, Memphis Slim, and others. His uncle was Shreveport bluesman Jesse "Babyface" Thomas. "There's Something on Your Mind (Part 2)" by singer Bobby Marchan entered the R&B Chart on June 13, 1960. The song remained on the chart for 15 weeks and ultimately hit #1 (on July 11th). It peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Louis Armstrong's 1964 album "Hello, Dolly!" reached No.1 on the Billboard Albums Chart on June 13, 1964. It held the top position for 6 weeks. The album it replaced at the top of the chart was "Hello, Dolly! The Original Broadway Cast Recording". It was ousted from #1 by The Beatles album "A Hard Day's Night – Original Motion Picture Sound Track".
