2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies took take place on April 14, 2012 in Cleveland. Cosimo Matassa was inducted in the Award for Musical Excellence category. Other 2012 inductees included Beastie Boys, Donovan, Guns N' Roses, Laura Nyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Small Faces (aka The Faces), Freddie King, Don Kirshner, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns.

The categories of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees include Performers, the Ahmet Ertegun Award (formerly the Non-Performer category), Early Influences and the Award for Musical Excellence (which replaced the Sidemen category).
Members of The Coasters inducted in 1987 included Shreveport, LA native Will "Dub" Jones (born May 14, 1926; died January 16, 2000).
Members of The Ventures inducted in 2008 include Gerry McGee (born November 17, 1937; died October 12, 2019). McGee, was a native of Eunice, LA, and the son of late Cajun fiddle legend Dennis McGee

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum designates Cosimo Matassa's J&M Recording Studio as a historic rock and roll landmark. Ceremonies took place in New Orleans on September 24, 2010.
