  • 2009 Jazz Fest Tickets
    Advance 2009 Jazz Fest tickets can be purchased from Advance one day Jazz Fest tickets are $40 (they will be $50 at the gate). There are also premium VIP packages available. You can also buy advance tickets for the "Jazz Fest Express" shuttle service (recommended!) which runs from downtown New Orleans to the Fair Grounds (and back).

  • R.I.P. Eddie Bo
    New Orleans has lost another legend with the passing of Eddie Bo on March 18, 2009. The late, great piano man was scheduled to play at Jazz Fest on April 26th and 30th, and also at the annual WWOZ Piano Night. For more info, see WWOZ; Times-Picayune, AMG bio. A memorial service for Eddie is planned for April 1st at the Mid-City Lanes Rock 'n' Bowl.

  • In the Spirit
    View the works of late music and cultural photographer Michael P. Smith while you're in the Big Easy for Jazz Fest. "In the Spirit: The Photography of Michael P. Smith" marks the inaugural public presentation of the Michael P. Smith Archive from the Historic New Orleans Collection. The exhibition includes displays at The Collection and the Contemporary Arts Center. Get the details here.

  • Louisiana Rock 'n' Roll Exhibit
    The Ponderosa Stomp will be presenting "Unsung Heroes: The Secret History of Louisiana Rock & Roll" beginning April 26th at The Louisiana State Museum at the historic Cabildo in New Orleans Jackson Square. The exhibit continues and expands the Ponderosa Stomp Foundation's mission to shine a light on the unsung heroes of American music. Read more here.

  • R.I.P. Snooks Eaglin
    NOLA R&B legend Snooks Eaglin passed away on February 18th, at age 72, after suffering a heart attack; the guitar great was scheduled to perform at the '09 Jazz Fest on Sunday, May 3rd; see Times-Picayune; Louisiana Weekly; AMG bio. Also see our ongoing tribute to late Louisiana music artists.

  • Schedule Update:
    New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi have been added to the '09 Jazz Fest line-up; the group will perform on Saturday, May 2nd. Julian Marley has been added to the line-up for Friday, May 1st. Toots & the Maytals have been dropped from the line-up. See the day by day line-up of performers.

  • The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation's 11th Annual Gala Fundraiser is scheduled for April 23rd. This year's event will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, spotlighting the famed New Orleans music venue The Dew Drop Inn; "The Dew Drop Inn Revisited All-Stars" will feature Allen Toussaint, Eddie Bo, Al "Carnival Time" Johnson, Robert Parker, and Wanda Rouzan along with The N'Awlins All-Stars; Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and the TBC Brass Band are also scheduled to perform.
