Notes:

1. Harry Connick, Jr. performed "We Are In Love" at the 33rd Annual Grammy Awards. Watch Harry accept the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Male.

2. Mary Chapin Carpenter won the Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female with the song "Down at the Twist and Shout". The track features backing from members of Cajun band BeauSoleil. Carpenter and BeauSoleil performed the song at the awards show, and Carpenter thanked the band in her acceptance speech.

3. Paul Simon's "The Rhythm of the Saints" was nominated for Album of the Year at the 34th Annual Grammy Awards. The album features a guest appearance by Zydeco accordionist C.J. Chenier.

4. The 38th Annual Grammy Awards show was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.

5. Ellen DeGeneres returned as host for the 39th Annual Grammy Awards. Ellen also performed (?) at the show opening ("Ellen's Grammy Song"), backed by Chaka Khan, Bonnie Raitt, Sheila E., and Shawn Colvin.

6. Tim McGraw & Faith Hill performed their Grammy nominated song "It's Your Love" at the 40th Annual Grammys. The couple also presented the award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. "It's Your Love" was also nominated for Best Country Song (Stephony Smith, songwriter).

7. Britney Spears performed a medley of her songs From the "Bottom of My Broken Heart" and "... Baby One More Time" at the 42nd Annual GRAMMY Awards.
