New Orleans Songwriters Night
About The New Orleans Songwriters Night:
Caffeine Music's New Orleans Songwriters Night is held at Carrollton Station on the last Thursday of each month. Writers perform "in the round", alternating, collaborating and discussing. This program offers a rare opportunity to hear first rate songs performed by their creators. Show time is 8:30 sharp. Proceedings of each night will be determined by the performers, but the model is the in-the-round concert series held at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and New York’s Bottom Line.
Caffeine Music's New Orleans Songwriters Night welcomes songwriters from the surrounding community and elsewhere. Carrollton Station has long been hospitable toward acoustic music. The club’s performance room is intimate while being large enough for a hundred or so people.
By participating in Caffeine Music's New Orleans Songwriters Night, musicians and fans have the opportunity to throw their support behind the city’s songwriting community and to help strengthen our songwriters’ community in New Orleans as well as, by virtue of inviting writers from outside the area, the rest of the country.
Caffeine Music is an independent music publisher which aims to present the best of contemporary Americana & Country songwriting, particularly that which is coming from New Orleans. We recognize that in New Orleans there are exceptional songwriters actively writing, collaborating and performing. The directors of Caffeine Music have placed songs with recording artists and in independent films and network television series.
Caffeine Music's New Orleans Songwriters Night is sponsored by Gambit Weekly, Abita Beer, Crescent Music Services, Balance Productions and Satchmo.com.
